Rheumatic Fever (RF) - Oral Health Care Considerations

Address any underlying comorbid cardiac condition such as arrhythmias and mitral valve prolapse (MVP).

According to the 2007 American Heart Association’s Guidelines on Infective Endocarditis patients with RF with an associated heart murmur do not need antibiotic prophylaxis.
